I feel this course has been more than I expected. It has served me in both a personal and professional way. I feel I am starting to gain a sound understanding of what's entailed in meditation practice, and how to help others develop their own practice along with some additional knowledge on holistic counselling. Prior to commencing this course I was someone who would state "I can't meditate, I've tried", and I realise this statement is incorrect, as I just was never shown how to properly meditate. I was always under the impression, as I think many newbies are, that your mind has to be still, empty, devoid of thought if you are to meditate. But that is not the case, it is about observing thought and coming back to the breath and into the imeditate moment, the now. Once I truly understood that I do not fear meditating. I have also been encouraged at how many styles of meditation practices there are, which can suit a myriad of people, diagnosis, issues, styles etc.
